Which Claude plans can add a custom connector?

Can Claude write quotes for my sign shop?

Yes, if Claude has your prices to work from. On its own, Claude can only guess what a sign should cost. With Grommetbook added as a custom connector, Claude sets up your Price Book from your spreadsheet, drafts Quotes priced from your own Materials, Rates and markups, gets a link your customer approves online, and moves Jobs across the board. Claude never invents the number; it shows the math. It depends on your Claude plan, because custom connectors are not on every plan.

What Claude can do with Grommetbook

Set up your Price Book. Hand Claude your pricing spreadsheet. It runs import_price_book as a dry run, shows you the Materials, Rates and Products, and saves when you say so.
Price and explain. price_product returns each step: material cost with waste %, rate hours, options, markup and minimum.
Write and send Quotes. draft_quote builds the Quote for a Customer. send_quote returns an approval link. Your customer approves online; their name, IP address and time are recorded, and there is a PDF.
Run the Jobs board. Claude turns approved Quotes into Jobs and moves them through the stages: To do → In production → Ready → Installed/picked up → Invoiced.
Handle price rises. "Oracal raised 751 by 6%" runs reprice_materials. Products reprice; Quotes already sent stay frozen.
Export. export_invoices_csv gives an invoice CSV in a QuickBooks import layout. export_shop_data exports everything as JSON. Direct QuickBooks Online push is coming soon.
Ask for features. If something doesn't fit, Claude files it with request_feature.

Everything Claude does shows up in the read-only web viewer, along with the history of which call changed what.

How to add Grommetbook to Claude

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
Choose Add custom connector.
Paste the server address: https://grommetbook.smallwright.com/mcp
Sign in when asked. Enter your email and open the sign-in link we email you.
Start a new chat and say "get started with Grommetbook".

If you don't see Add custom connector, your Claude plan may not include custom connectors. Full steps for each assistant are on Connect your AI.

What Claude can't do here yet

Grommetbook v1 has no production scheduling, inventory, online payments or deposit collection, artwork proofing, sales tax beyond a flat rate, Xero or mobile app. It does not send email. Pricing is linear, with no quantity-break grids.
